Join a new game

After you receive a password for your username, you can join new games of Cath'thir.

Enter the username and the password to the box that is located on the left corner on the top of the screen in the Cath'thir client program.

Then choose the option "Server", then the option "Join to new game of Cath'thir."

Then you will need to select your favourite Nations that you would like to play.

How the server gives nations to players?

The server distributes the Nations to players according to their choices. For example, if your first choice is Clan Hojo and no-one else has that nation as their first choice, you will play Clan Hojo in the next game.

If several players have the same nation as their first choice, the server decides which of those players gets to play that nation. The program checks how many turns each person has played that particular nation in relation to game turns that he has played other Nations. This functions on such basis that an experienced player who has played only few turns with his first choice nation is more likely to get that nation in the game than a new player.

However, a new player is still more likely to get his first choice nation than an experienced player who has played dozens of turns with that nation. This rule is in effect in order to allow players play as many different Nations in the game as they want to. Some Nations are higher in demand than others and we would like to allow everyone a chance to play their favorite nation in Cath'thir at one game or another. In addition, with this rule we can make sure that people who actually play their nation instead of letting AI take care of the nation are more likely to get their chosen nation.

When Nations have been distributed according to the first choices of players, the server program will distribute Nations according to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th... (and so on) choices with the same logic desribed above.

Unlimited number of games

If you have the time, you can play as many games of Cath'thir as you want to. We would like to encourage people to "fight to the bitter end" as it can always be that the enemy is attacked by someone else and you will have the chance to recover.

Server stats and number of joiners

In case you wish to see, how many players are joined to next game at the current moment, you can do it by: "Server -> Server stats". It will also tell the time of server, and are you joining to next game.
